Clarity Chiropractic Neurology (CCN) is a functional neurology clinic that specializes in treating complicated conditions using receptor-based therapies. Through visual, vestibular and proprioceptive exercises, Dr. Cat’s approach heightens the connection between body and brain.
Dr. Cat uses a combination of chiropractic care, neurological rehabilitation, exercise prescription and functional medicine principles to bring a well-rounded approach to patient care. If applicable, Dr. Cat collaborates with a range of medical experts, such as Naturopaths, Physical Therapists and Neuro-Optometrists to offer an expansive recovery approach.
Traditional chiropractic patients with chronic aches and pains also benefit from neurology-based treatments. Chiropractic manipulation, soft tissue therapies and physical exercise complement functional neurology principles to increase recovery, movement and general quality of life.
Dr. Cat Maddox graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Western States, where she was honored to be class speaker at graduation. She was presented with the Dean’s Scholarship in her first year based on her high academic achievements. While earning her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine, she also began her post-doctoral studies in functional neurology (DACNB) both via The Carrick Institute and the International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation. Most recently she has become nationally recognized as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS).
Dr. Cat’s passion stems from her time as a rehabilitation coordinator in a chiropractic neurology clinic. It was here that she witnessed a need for more functional neurology practitioners to work with complicated cases such as post-concussion syndrome, unremitting vertigo, chronic headaches and mild-moderate cognitive decline.
Dr. Cat is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) who spent 10 years working as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor. She started her own successful company, Organic Health and Fitness, in New York City helping private clients increase mobility and minimize pain. When she moved out to Oregon, she was hired by OHSU who asked her to develop a class. Pulling from her background as a trainer and Pilates instructor, she designed SPF (Strength, Power and Flexibility), which was taught for years to follow. In her spare time Dr. Cat loves to kayak and hike with her husband, enjoy the Oregon coast, raise backyard chickens, cultivate her edible garden and cook gluten-free meals.
